sweet Jesus, make me salt of the earth, even if I must go through fire and
water to become so; do not permit me to give scandal rather than savor, or be
like soil sown with salt become sterile through my own fault, thus changing the
work you gave me for your service into uselessness.
O sun of justice, from whom the stars of the Church receive light, make me like one of these stars, free from all darkness, so that from wherever you have put me I may come running quickly at your voice and joyously light up the world you created for your glory.
