On Mount Sinai, God had spoken only one language and to one people alone, but the proclamation of the gospel -- which was to reunite into one all the peoples of the world in the faith of Jesus Christ and the knowledge of God -- was heard in all languages, and "each one heard them speaking in his own language" (Acts 2:6). Thus did Jesus establish his law in a very different way than had Moses. Let us believe, let us hope, let us love, and the law will be in our hearts.
