My open door

"God visits us, but most of the time we are not at home."  ~Rev. Joseph Roux, 1834-1886, French priest, writer

Dear Lord,
today I will be home,
eagerly awaiting You.
My door will be open.
Please come!
Amen.

  1. Wow.Hello :) I came across your blog and was so excited to see it. I am interested in the consecrated life. I live in the archdiocese of detroit area and im not sure we even have a program like that here. But, I saw in our michigan catholic newspaper an article about being consecrated. I think it's a beautiful life. I think Jesus is calling me to it!

    1. Hi Claire!

I tried emailing you at that above address but I got a reply back that you didn't have a yahoo account? WEIRD haha. So, I will post what I wrote you here! I was so excited to see you saw my comment on your beautiful blog. I would love to correspond with you about the consecrated life. I’ve been doing a lot of research on it lately because I have had a personal experience and I think Jesus is trying to get my attention to my true calling. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I come from a Polish and Norwegian family and I’ve lived in Detroit, Mi all my life. I’m 35 right now soon to be 36 in April and I work at a Catholic college in Detroit called Marygrove which is run by the IHM sisters. I teach French and I work in Continuing Education helping people get a new start on a career or get back in school and complete their GED. My family is very active in our church St. Albert the Great in Dearborn Heights, Mi. My brother, before he got sick, was studying to be priest at Sacred Heart Seminary but he was unable to complete his studies because of his diabetes and other severe health issues. Instead, he obtained a degree in Pastoral ministry and he works with our pastor, Fr Dan Zaleski helping him at the different church functions and at special masses.

It’s really so awesome to correspond with you. I don’t think my archdiocese has any program for the consecrated life so I’m not even sure how I would go about doing it. I received a significant sign early last year from Jesus after my life took an unfortunate spin. It took me a while to recover from it (nearly three years) but upon the completion of the third year I had a bit of a revelation from Jesus that in the end I had made the right choices and He was happy to have my heart, mind, and soul back with Him. I’ve never been in a relationship with any other man other than Christ. Nothing ever worked out for me and in the end I always find myself comparing men to Jesus and somehow Jesus always wins my heart no matter what or who. He always seems to me to be the better option and by far the more beautiful one. I know that all humans have God’s beauty in them in some way or another but Jesus stands out in comparison to other men. I always tell my friends that Jesus is the white diamond glowing in the blackened cave.

Well, I could go on for ages here so I’ll stop haha.

      God Bless!! Theresa 

  3. Hi, Theresa, so good to hear from you! Listen, I'm the one who is WEIRD because I made a typo when I gave you my email address. Guess I was just so excited to hear from you that I couldn't spell my own address correctly. LOL! So here is the CORRECT address: hcikfs@yahoo.com. I just double- and triple-checked that and am pretty sure I did it right this time. I'm going out shortly and won't be home until this evening so it will be tomorrow or this weekend before I can write more. Would you please email me at Yahoo with your email address, and I will then respond to you there? Many thanks! Blessings of joy, Alice Claire
